Why We Built This Site
North Carolina gives the public broad access to many court records, but Guilford County records do not all live in one office. The Clerk of Superior Court keeps Superior Court and District Court files, handles certified criminal searches, and acts as probate judge for estates. District Court handles misdemeanors, infractions, family cases, juvenile matters, smaller civil cases, and magistrate matters. The Sheriff's Office manages jail, arrest, warrant, and civil process information. The Register of Deeds handles marriage licenses and certified marriage copies. Public records can be easy to miss when the first search goes to the wrong agency.

This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any North Carolina court, Guilford County office, sheriff's office, clerk's office, or state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- We cannot file paperwork or send records requests on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any court document or vital record
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
